NEW FOR 2025

If you’re craving space, sunshine and the unmistakably lovely landscapes of the south of France, Le Savornin has it covered. Set in almost 10,000m2 of beautiful grounds, this is an idyllic venue for a group or extended family to enjoy a charming country home in the heart of the magnificent Luberon. This region is classic rural Provence, a coffee-table-book landscape of limestone hills, olive groves, lavender fields and gilded hilltop villages waiting to be explored.

The house has the generous proportions of a traditional Provencal mas, complete with pale blue shutters and a wisteria-draped pergola. Inside you’ll find five comfortable en suites, air conditioned so you can sleep well even in the height of summer, and a large open-plan kitchen/dining/living room that opens directly onto the gardens. The sense of space here is exhilarating, with a 10-metre swimming pool, extensive lawns and two dining/lounging terraces for epic long lunches or evening drinks watching the sky fade to pink. A pool-house kitchen makes self-catering all part of the holiday fun here, but if cooking’s not your thing, Le Savornin is just a 20-minunte walk or easy drive from the village of Saint-Saturnin, which has a few restaurants, a bakery and small shops for your day-to-day needs. If you’re serious about French food, there’s a renowned Saturday market in Apt (five minutes by car), and there are currently nine Michelin-starred restaurants in the wider Luberon area. But for many the real joy of a stay here is simply its space, peace and quiet beauty, which is perhaps the true essence of this endlessly appealing region.

Please note: There is a second small rental property located within the same grounds as Le Savornin at the far end of the plot. The two houses share the same entrance and first few metres of driveway, but each has its own parking area. The two houses are not visible to one another, and the grounds are landscaped so each house has its own dedicated outside space that is private and not overlooked. However, there is no continuous physical boundary between the two, and we cannot guarantee that the swimming pool at the small house will always have its cover on.

Additionally, there is an unfenced Koi carp pond in the grounds; families with children under 11 are asked to sign a waiver to acknowledge that non-swimmers must be supervised.

Good to know… A price reduction is available in June for smaller groups using only 3 or 4 of the bedrooms.

Local area

This is authentic Luberon, pleasantly removed from the glossy sheen of the more famous villages such as Gordes, Roussillon and Bonnieux yet still close enough to make a visit very easy. Saint-Saturnin lès Apt (to give it its full name) is a quiet village, well worth a visit for the castle ruins which sit above its winding main street and offer wonderful views across the Lubéron valley. It’s also a reminder of the area’s rich agricultural heritage, and Saint Saturnin cherries are much prized locally. Apt is a bigger town offering all you need in the way of food shops, plus a wider choice of restaurants. The GR97 hiking route runs through Saint Saturnin, and the whole Luberon Natural Park, a vast protected area covering some 185,000 hectares, is on the doorstep. The park exists to preserve the heritage of the region, ensuring gloriously unspoilt landscapes and uniquely preserved villages and towns. It’s wonderful touring country, either by car or by e-bike (hills!), and if you’re here between mid-June and early August you’ll be surrounded by fragrant lavender fields in full purple bloom.
